Remember The Government Takeover Of Healthcare?

The most signifcant abridgement of Liberty in the history of the USA is the Government Takeover Of Healthcare.  While the House of Representatives has passed a version of this Bill (a term for a piece of legislation that has never seemed so appropriate as it does this year) and the Senate has voted yes on cloture (which means a time limit is placed on debate over an item in order to avoid a filibuster), this is not a finalized issue yet.  It most certainly has not become law yet. 

The Senate has yet to debate The Government Takeover Of Healthcare, and they will begin debate on Monday November 30th, 2009.  After the debate is concluded, the Senate will vote on whatever version of the Bill that they reach before their vote. 

After that, if there is a Senate version of the Bill, it will go to a Conference Committee where the differences in the House of Representatives version and the Senate version will be reconciled before the final version of the Bill heads back to the House of Representatives for a vote on the final version. 

Why am I writing this civics lesson?  Because even though the Old Media has recently ignored the pending Government Takeover of Healthcare and ignored the associated losses of Liberty and Freedom throughout this process, there is still time to do something about it.

If this becomes law in any form, it WILL be the beginning of the end for the USA as a Constitutional Republic. 

Currently the Old Media is offering many diversions, everything from the civilian trial of Khalid Sheikh Muhammed to the Gatecrashers at the White House State Dinner to the revelations on the political nature of Cap-and-Trade "research" to many other things dominating the "news cycle".  Some of these things are important to be aware of as well and some not so much, but in regard to the future of The USA, none have the relevance that The Government Takeover Of Healthcare does. 

Please do not let a day of the week (or weekend) go by without contacting your Senators and Representative.  Every day.  It IS that important. 

In addition, consider a run for office at any level, including central committee.  Identify if your elected officials at every level merit your support or opposition, and prepare a plan to take action to implement that support or opposition. 

We may lose our Republic yet.  If we somehow do keep our Republic, we will never again have the luxury of not making our elected representatives accountable on a daily basis for their actions.  Never again will civic duty include only voting whenever the polls are open.  It will be crucial going forward to actively demand representation and actively particpate in the the total process.

FOR NOW, THE TOP PRIORITY IS TO KEEP OUR REPUBLIC.  Avoid distraction and stay focused and active.  Contact your Senators TODAY (Saturday) and TOMORROW (Sunday) by fax or leave a voice mail or in whatever way you can, and continue to do so into next week.  BRING AS MUCH PRESSURE TO BEAR ON THE US SENATE AS POSSIBLE.  This bill can still be defeated.

Best Buy Honors Islam's Eid-al-Adha Instead of Thanksgiving or Christmas



DENVER, Colo. - "Merry Christmas" is off-limits, but "Happy Eid al-Adha" is apparently okay.

Best Buy is raising eyebrows with a Black Friday ad which extends a holiday greeting to Muslims for the annual Eid-al-Adha holiday, or in English, the "Festival of Sacrifice," which coincides with the Thanksgiving weekend this year.

I know where I won't be going for Black Friday.

Palin Power: Sarah Palin in Columbus Ohio for "Going Rogue" Book Signing


Sarah Palin did a book signing for GOING ROGUE at The Border's Books and Music store on Sawmill Road in Columbus, Ohio from 6 pm to 9 pm on November 20th, 2009.  I wasn't able to get a wristband so I could get a copy of the book autographed by Governor Palin, but I still showed up to take a few photos and videos, and to hopefully talk to some folks.  If you saw my post from earlier this week on this event, you would know that the initial plans for the event included the distribution of 1000 wristbands, each of which would entitle the holder to two (2) autographs.  I didn't find out until I arrived at the event that this policy had been changed to the distribution of 500 wristbands with the same two autograph limit per wristband.  Apparently, the organizers of the tour had found that there was not time in the three-hour signing period for Governor Palin to share the amount of time with each of 1000 individuals that she wanted to so the number of wristbands was decreased to 500 for this event and apparently for upcoming events as well.

TO THE LEFT: if Sarah Palin was only doing this to sell as many books as possible, why would she give out half the number of wristbands in order to spend twice as much time with each person who had a wristband?

On the way into the parking lot, I met this couple.  The lady had been in line for a wristband earlier today, and she got wristband #499 of 500. Her husband was a little shy at first but he popped out from behind the tree for this picture.   (She is the one who brought me up to date on the change in policy from 1000 wristbands to 500; the local media did not release any information regarding wristbands at all, so I was to find several people in line that did not know that wristbands were necessary for an autograph.) 


After I spoke with the couple above, I shot this video, moving from the end of the line to the front of the line.  There were several hundred people in line from the end of the line to the entrance of the store, and it extended inside the store from the front door for at least 100 feet to the place where the book signing was taking place. 



This is one of the few signs that I saw.  It clearly expressed the sentiments of the vast majority of those in attendance.



This small group of signs belonged to a few protestors who were there.  I asked them if they were Code Pink and one woman said "no, we're from Minnesota".

As I stood on the curb outside the store with my camera, several folks asked for information about the book signing.  The local Old Media had put the date, time, and place out there, but there was no information on the wristband policy available through them.  As a result, many people showed up hoping to get a book autographed who were not aware of the wristband policy which was in place. The information about the wristbands that I posted earlier this week was obtained from me calling the store and talking to someone directly. 



These ladies were from Franny's Hallmark which is located right next to Border's Books.  They had a tray of goodies which were pretty yummy looking.  Capitalism is a grand thing, no?



This gentleman was set up opposite the entrance to the store.  He didn't apear to be from the Old Media, but he still had a really nice camera and was in  a prime location...

While I was standing near the entrance to the store, I overheard a woman speaking on her cell phone to someone and apparently relating her experience of having her book signed by Sarah Palin. After she ended the call, I approached her and her daughter and asked them to share their experience briefly. They were most gracious and gave a short account of the experience.  The Mother is Kathy and the daughter is Sarah. Their description lined up with the other folks whom I spoke with; everyone said that they actually got to spend a few moments speaking with Sarah Palin in addition to getting their book signed.  It sounds like Sarah Palin has that special magnetic personality that natural leaders seem to all have.  No wonder The Left is afraid of her and is trying to smudge her image.

After speaking with Kathy and Sarah, I took one last video of the front of the store and then headed back to my waiting vehicle, and I decided to shoot video of the line of people as I walked.  I got about halfway down the line here and met some folks from WALNUT (Workers Against Lazy Non-Producers United Together).  Their website is pretty cool so check it out.


After exchanging greetings and business cards with the folks from WALNUT I continued heading back to my vehicle, shooting video and stopping to speak with a few folks.  There were still two hours left in the book signing.  Since I didn't have a wristband and I did have my family with me, we went to a nearby Bob Evans and had a bite to eat, and then went to Krispy-Kreme afterward because the "Hot Donuts" sign was on.  At about 9:10 pm we drove back past the Border's and there was still a line from the signing area to the front entrance of the store, and the signing was supposed to end at 9 pm.  Apparently Governor Palin didn't leave until everyone in line got their book autographed.
Could be... 



UPDATE  11/21/2009 11:00 am:

The Left wonders why we support Sarah Palin on The Right, why The Conservatives who remain in The Republican Party have been energized by her new book.  The Conservatives support Sarah Palin because we understand that The Left is working from within the US Government, passing laws and enacting policies that will force US Citizens to fund the destruction of their Constitution and their Country, the literal metamorphosis of the USA into a new entity.  We believe that she understands that and does stand against that and would stand strongly against it as an elected public servant, the latter of which she would be, instead of The Ruler which we currently have as POTUS.

When I was on YouTube, I noticed that there was a video posted about the folks who had camped overnight outside Border's Books in anticipation of Sarah Palin's appearance.  If you watch the video you will see that the person presented himself as someone who was sympathetic to their cause as he drew out their responses and then proceeded to attack them with insults at the end of his interview, using profanity as well, to which the interviewees responded with shock BUT without profanity like the interviewer used AND without attacking the interviewer in kind. The interviewer then paints the interviewees as unintelligent and dull, with inference being that if they are Conservative then they must be stupid.  (The video is clearly edited heavily, so I'm sure the respondents that he didn't have to wake from their sleep on the sidewalk gave him much more cogent responses, which he failed to include in his YouTube video).  If you go to the YouTube post of this video and look at the comments, you'll see commenters from The Left who laud the interviewer as "Brilliant" and "Genius" while posting further insulting comments about the interviewees, all with an angry and hate-filled tone.  All of this is typical of The Left.

Do the folks being interviewed look like the "Angry Mob" that The Left and The Old Media are painting them as?

Why is The Left so concerned about Sarah Palin that they put up so much effort to attack her? 

Is it a convenient diversion to their dismantling of The Constitution?

Do they see her as a threat to their agenda for The USA?

She is currently only a book author.  They could simply just not buy her book and ignore her, but they are not doing that.  Why?

As long as Governor Palin stands against The Left, we know whose side she is on.  The constant attacks on her from The Left serve to continue to remind us that she unashamedly stands as a true Conservative, and We The People support her.

The US Senate will likely vote on Saturday November 21st on the Government Takeover Of Healthcare.  The Senate Majority Leader is buying votes in order to get the legislation through The Senate. 

While the Will Of The People is routinely ignored by our Elected Representatives, we still need to make our opinions known.  Contact your Senators (each state has two of them) and make your position known to them. 

We are on the very edge of a precipice so deep and vast that if we slip over the edge and fall we will be destroyed as a nation.  If you remain silent now you are helping to push us over that edge. 

Make your position known to your Senators, and make your prayers known to God. 

May God have mercy on us all.

Islam calls insurance "gambling". Will Muslims be exempt from Mandatory Health Insurance?

It says in Fataawa al-Lajnah al-Daa’imah (15/297):


A – It is not permissible for the Muslim to insure himself against sickness, whether that is in a Muslim country or in a kaafir country, because that involves ambiguity and a kind of gambling.

Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: “Insurance means that a person pays a certain amount to the company each month or each year against an accident that may happen to the thing insured.


It is known that the one who pays insurance is losing in all cases, and the insurance company may win or lose, because if the accident is very serious and costs more than the money paid by the customer, the company will lose, but if it is minor and costs less than the money paid by the customer, or if no accident happens at all, then the company will win and the customer will lose.

This kind of contract – i.e., contracts in which a person may win or lose – is regarded as a kind of gambling which Allaah forbids in His Book and mentions alongside drinking alcohol and worshipping idols.

Based on this, this kind of insurance is haraam. I do not know of any kind of insurance based on ambiguity that is permissible, rather all kinds are haraam, because of the hadeeth of Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) who said that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) forbade transactions based on ambiguity.

Will Congress force the followers of Islam to buy health insurance like they are planning to force everyone else (at least the actual US citizens) to do? 

Any person with a capacity to think rationally will realize that of course the "religious exemption" in The Government Takeover Of Healthcare will certainly allow Muslims to opt out of particpation.   The US government cannot call the Fort Hood situation Terrorism and they are bringing Kahlid Sheik Muhammed to NYC for a civil trial based on an act of war; of course they will not force Muslims to partipate in insurance when they are forbidden to do so.

Report Details Stimulus Money Spent in Nonexistent Congressional Districts

Fox News: "Recovery.gov is under fire for posting a number of jobs created in congressional districts that don't exist and for accepting unrealistic data from several reporting outlets. For instance, the Web site reported that 30 jobs were saved or created with $761,420 of federal stimulus spending in Arizona's 15th Congressional District. One problem with the claim -- the state has only eight districts The site also lists 12 other non-existent districts in Arizona where jobs were reportedly saved or created. It also lists imaginary districts in at least three other states, including Oklahoma, Iowa, and Connecticut."

This is another case of something that would have been reported wall-to-wall had it happened under a Republican administration. 

This money went somewhere; it was "spent".  This "Stimulus" contains enough money and is structured so that it would be easy to hide the diversion of funds.  High crimes and misdemeanors? There could well be some hidden somewhere in this mix.  Is there another Woodward and Bernstein out there somewhere?

I spoke with Mark (that's not him in the photo above) at Border's Books at 6670 Sawmill Road (43235) on Monday and he said that there have been some incorrect reports in the local media. (Imagine that...The Old Media putting out false information about Sarah Palin!)

IMPORTANT: The doors will open at Border's Books located at 6670 Sawmill Road at 10:00 am on Friday November 20th and the first 1000 people in line will get a wristband. Each wristband is good for two (2) signatures each. Governor Palin will be there from 6pm to 9pm but you must have a wristband to get in line for an autographed book. Freedom's Never Free 2009

On November 14th, 2009 I had the pleasure to be in attendance at an event called "Freedom's Never Free 2009" at the Historical Aircraft Squadron held at the Fairfield County Airport located between Carroll, Ohio and  Lancaster, Ohio

This has been an annual event in recent years although this is the first time that it has been hosted at the airport.  It is held in honor of Veteran's Day and is scheduled on a weekend as close to November 11th as possible.  It is a time for all of us to remember the blessings that Freedom and Liberty are and to reflect on this, and especially to honor the sacrifice made by those who have served the USA. 

It was an honor to be there and I am honored as well to be able to post some photos of the event here.  Many thanks to those who participated.

Heartfelt thanks to those who have served our country and to those who currently serve as well.  Thank you for your service.

The Senior members of the Sea Cadets helped to operate games for the children.  The Sea Cadets we met at this event were an outstanding group of young men and women.





A local veteran provided some solo music.  He was pretty good at it as well.  I spoke with him later and he was very gracious and humble, as were all the vets I spoke with on this day.





The EAA Young Eagles provided free flights for those in the crowd who were between ages 8 and 18, as they do at this airport (and many others) several times per year.

These young men are Junior members of The Sea Cadets.  They had tubes of camoflage paint available for sale, and willingly modeled the results.

These Sea Cadets had been on the crew helping to direct vehicles into the parking area.  With that job finished, they hung out and enjoyed the program on stage...

...where there was a group doing dramatic signing to music.  They were really good, and this is one of the many reasons that I wished that I brought my tripod and video camera instead of leaving it at home. The name of this group is "Remnant". 





Outside there were games and prizes for the children...

...and AIRPLANES!!!

There are 912 Project groups in many areas, striving to maintain Liberty in the USA. "Not On Our Watch" (will we allow Liberty to vanish).




Honor Flight was represented - if you know a WWII vet, check out their site and get an application.  This is a really awesome thing that their group does.  "If you can read this, thank a teacher...
If you can read it in English, thank a World War II veteran before it is too late..."
 
 
 

Nathan Martin represented Freedom Alliance, and was one of the keynote speakers.

As the time grew near for the main program to begin, JT Burcham and his Fairfield Christian Church Media Crew prepared to record the events. (NOTE: At some point the video that they shot of this event should be posted at their multimedia site).

The Honor Guard from Columbus (Ohio) Division of  Fire arrives...

...and they join the US Marine Color Guard in a field near the main hangar to prepare for the opening of the program:






The people all moved into the main hangar in anticipation of the presentation of The Flag of the United States Of America.

An announcement is made that the Color Guard and Honor Guard would now move in together to officially start the ceremony.

As the Colors entered the hangar, everyone rose to their feet.


The Pledge of Allegiance is recited followed by the playing and singing of The Star Spangled Banner as the veterans in the crowd stood at attention and saluted The Flag.


All flags but the US Flag are dipped as the Star Spangled Banner is sung and played.





After the National Anthem, the Color Guard and Honor Guard march from the hangar.


The day's cermeony included several speakers, other performances by the group "Remnant", and special guests including Robert Derga who is the father of a young man, Dustin Derga, who gave his life in service to our country in the War On Terror, and a Retrieval of the Colors and Taps at the closing.  I didn't have a video camera and my lighting was not really adequate for inside the hanger with my camera (my apologies for that), so I didn't take any more pictures inside during the rest of the ceremony.





As we stepped back outside I noticed this man checking out the A26-B.

I thanked him for his service to our country.  Like the other veterans who I thanked during the course of the day, he thanked me.  I don't know that I deserved thanks from him or the other veterans for my recognition of their service, but I do know that they all deserve my thanks for their service.  I offer that thanks to the veterans who are still with us and the ones who are no longer with us, and especially to those who sacrificed their lives in service to our country.
