Jummah on Capitol Hill – Fri. Sept. 25, 2009

What is Jummah?  In this case, it is a day (09-25-2009) that Islam was openly clebrated as Muslims Pray On Capitol Hill. 

The followers of Islam feel that their time is now.  They are acting on that idea.  The current POTUS spoke in Cairo and declared that the USA is "no longer a Christian Nation".

Osama bin Laden is ready to meet with the POTUS, under certain conditions:

The Muslim goal is to place the USA, and indeed the entire Planet Earth, under Sharia.  They will employ a doctrine which allows them to lie to anyone who is not a Muslim; They rely on non-Muslims who are fooled by these lies and who actually believe that Islam is "The Religion Of Peace".

Currently, there are large Muslim communities in Northern Virginia, near Washington DC, large enough so the 50,000 for the above march could have ridden the Washington DC Metro from their homes to this march.  If only 1% of them are radical and willing to commit acts of terrorism, they could make Washington, DC into a place where "blood runs in the streets", as they have promised to do. 

In the USA, The Constitution guarantees several rights even as it implies responsibilities that go along with them, and these are based on principles found in the Bible, ergo the description of the heritage of the USA as Judeo-Christian. 

One of these rights is the freedom of religion.  In other words, no belief system is forced upon the citizens of the USA by its government. 

In Christianity, the Bible instructs the Christian that each person is responsible for their own decisions, and there is recognition that faith comes from within the individual, not from another individual (or the government) forcing a person to declare a belief that is not in their heart.

In Islam there are three choices for an "infidel" who is not a Muslim: 1) Convert to Islam, 2)  become a second class citizen who pays the Jizya tax, or 3) Death.  In an Islamic country, no one can legally own a Bible, and the type of demonstration of religious belief that this Jummah On Capitol Hill was would be illegal and prohibitied and result in arrest and prosecution as a capital crime if such a demonstration involved ANY BELIEF OTHER THAN ISLAM. 

There are contrasts between Islam and Christianity.  There is also a systematic plan that the followers of Islam seek to implement to use our own laws, including the rights guaranteed by our Constitution, against us in order to impose their system of government here in the USA.  This is their plan, and they have stated this publicly. There is no part of this plan that involves coexistence; 100% submission to Islam is the goal.

I continue to believe that one should not give Barack Obama the benefit of the doubt when viewing his policies and decisions, and that these policies and decisions are not designed to benefit The USA, despite his Oath Of Office. 

This video outlines some of my points of concern, but not all of them.  Humor me, and imagine what a POTUS would do if he was trying to undermine his own country.  Once you do that, examine Barack's policies and decisions and see how they line up with your imagined scenario. Already, the "Economic Stimulus And Recovery Act" has done untold damage that will become evident over the 10 years that it unfolds, and it does fit with the scenario of a POTUS purposely weakening our country.  The other major pending changes, like The Government Takeover Of Healthcare and Cap-And-Trade, will weaken us to the point of collapse.  The real danger is complacency by the citizens as the POTUS and his Party have cleverly set these up to take effect over a period of years, even though they are ramming them through the legislature with such urgency that some legislation is not written until AFTER it is voted on (yes, you read that correctly).

We have The Constitution, but it is a puppet document at this point, given lip service by the executive branch, judicial branch, and lawmakers who have all sworn to protect and defend it; the problem there is that the oath was written at a time when personal honor was practiced and valued in our country, and this time is long past. Now the "honor" that I speak of is for sale to the highest bidder, and the financial elite send money to both major parties in order to hedge their bet, shutting out the average citizen who The Constitution was designed to benefit.  Within the four year term of the current POTUS, the Constitutional rights of US citizens will effectively disappear unless there is an unexpected change of direction.

I pray daily for The USA.  My bottom line: We need a miracle of God's Mercy, and we need Bold Action by ALL citizens who desire to see The USA continue as a country, or The USA will become a footnote in history.

THE 9/12 EXPERIENCE: A Chronology With Comments EPILOGUE

(NOTE: This post is an epilogue to a six-part series on our experience at the 9/12 Taxpayer Protest in Washington DC, held on September 12th, 2009.  This is the last post in the series "THE 9/12 EXPERIENCE". Return To: PART ONE PART TWO PART THREE PART FOUR PART FIVE PART SIX.) 

The day after 9/12 was a time for reflection for us.  What did it mean, if anything? What to do now?  We stayed in the Washington DC area for one more night, and I will document some of that here, and I will try to gather my thoughts as well.

On 9/12, as we exited The National Archives, there was a sign that someone had left outside the exit:

As citizens of The USA, we had showed up and demonstrated that we refuse to remain silent.  What will happen to The USA and to our lives going forward?  No one can say for sure.  Will The USA continue to exist as a Constitutional Republic? God willing it will, but IF it does, then one thing that is for sure is that NEVER AGAIN will we have the luxury of not being actively involved as citizens of the USA in our government.  It will no longer be enough to just vote and write a letter now and then to your senator or representative.  The RESPONSIBILITY of citizenship will be paramount in order to maintain the RIGHTS of citizenship.  I will have more thoughts on this at the end of this post.

Before that, there are a few more photos to share:

On the morning after 9/12, we spoke again with some patriots from Virginia who were heading back home.  These were the first folks whom I spoke with on the morning of 9/12 at our hotel, and then we saw tham at breakfast on the morning after the 9/12 March.  They had gone to participate in the march as well.  Really nice and very knowledgeable would describe them to a tee.  There was mention of Saul Alinsky's book Rules For Radicals during our discussion and observations of how The Left puts those into practice.  One of their group also took some very nice photos of our group for us.

We stayed for another day and went down The Potomac to visit Mt. Vernon later that afternoon..  At Mt. Vernon we met several groups of people who had been at the 9/12 March.  Mt. Vernon is open 365 days a year and is well worth the price of admission.  It is a great place and if you are visiting during a time of year with weather that is nice enough so you can explore the grounds of the estate, allow for 2 to 3 hours total for your visit, and take your time-I PROMISE it will be worthwhile.  Check out the very well done website for everything from hours of operation to descriptions of archaeological work.  Mt. Vernon is privately operated by the Mt. Vernon Ladies Association which has been in operation since 1853 and throughout its history has neither requested nor accepted any government funding .

This is a blue-tailed salamander that some children caught near the brick wall.  This was caught by the children of a family from Texas who were in the area for the 9/12 March.  The father of the family and I had an impromptu and interesting discussion about their personal experiences with healthcare and the education of their children, and what the future might hold for our country.  I thought it most appropriate, and humbling as well, to have such a discussion in the very place that George Washington doubtless had discussed matters of import to the then-fledgling USA. 

This is a large pecan tree that sits just to the south of the main house at Mt. Vernon.  It was clearly alive in George Washington's time.  Maybe George Washington planted this tree.

At the end of the walking tour is the Reynolds Museum and Education Center.  Just inside the entrance from the grounds is this painting.  This is an outstanding facility. (click on photo to enlarge)

Many quotes from George Washington are noted in the museum.  Here is one of them.  The word "service" has the last letter cut off in this photo.  I think it is a key word in the sentence.

These "Rules Of Civility" are an interesting read; the exhibit allows one to read them, one-by-one.

George Washington was offered the position of "King of The United States Of America", and "President For Life".  He turned both down.  What if he had accepted?  How different would our lives be?  No one can say, but I can only imagine being in Washington's position and wrestling with the decision as to whether to accept such an offer.  (click photo to enlarge)

The sages tell us that we should learn from history so as not to repeat the mistakes therein.  On the other hand, there are also lessons of success held within history as well.  Clearly the history of the USA includes both success and failure.  The Constitution and its inherent responsibilities and rights are the bedrock upon which The USA has continued.  If we are to continue going forward, each individual citizen must decide how, and if, they will apply the Constitution in their daily lives, so by inference each must at least have a copy of the Constitution to read and since it is a relatively short and simple document, make it a goal to both read it and to learn it as well.  Once that is done, we must hold our elected representatives to Constitutional principles in each and every case.

In our Constitutional Republic form of government, the AUTHORITY to govern is given to THE PEOPLE (citizens) who then delegate that authority to their elected representatives, who then serve (remember Washington's quote in the report above?)those citizens as their representatives.  The Constitution intentionally limits the powers of the central government to which those representatives are elected.

It is clear that the founders of The USA operated with both faith and courage.  There was no guarantee of success when the USA was founded and frankly failure in The War For Independence would have guaranteed hanging in the town square, by the neck until dead, for the participants.  The risked everything they had because they believed, as Patrick Henry stated, "...is life so dear and peace so sweet so as to be purchased with the chains of slavery?  Forbid it, Almighty God! I know not what course others may choose, but as for me, give me liberty or give me death!". 

The crucial question is: What will we, at this point in history, be willing to risk, and what will we choose to do? 

Will we choose slavery to our central government with the goal of removing the risk from our lives?  Will we instead honor the intent and the sacrifice of our Founders and stand firm for the Constitution, and risk everything as the Founders did so that our descendants may enjoy the RIGHTS that come along with the RESPONSIBILITIES of our Constitutional Republic? 

The action that we take in response to this question WILL determine our future.  I pray, as did Patrick Henry, that we choose LIBERTY.  Life and Peace at the price of slavery, to our central goverment or to anyone else, is not worth the cost.

THE 9/12 EXPERIENCE: A Chronology With Comments PART SIX

Before doing a video with a 360-degree view of the scene on 3rd Street, three skateboarders came skating by, so they are there in the start of this brief video.

A short walk up 3rd Street brought us to the CNN Express bus.  These guys had a different take on the alphabet soup of network news.

Someone had added a sign to the driver's side mirror of the CNN bus. 

The Washington Monument is visible in the distance on the National Mall.  I noticed some heated words being exchanged on the other side of the CNN bus, so I moved out and took a short video....

...from some of the things I heard the people around the CNN bus saying, it sounded like some of them were planted there by The Left to fit the characterization of an angry, racist mob.  It makes for good TV, but does not reflect reality.  Here's a CNN report from the same location:

Were all of these genuine TEA Party attendees or were there some individuals there with their only mission to discredit the TEA Party?  I cannot say for sure, but I can tell you for sure that the mood around the Capitol was nothing close to this made-for-TV (made-for-Pelosi?) clip. (NOTE: One of the "Bury ObamaCare With Kennedy" signs is given some screen time at the start of the CNN clip-this is the only time I saw someone displaying one of these signs).

A few steps down the street were members of ParentalRights.org  We were aware of their ogranization and shared a few minutes with them.  They are concerned with The UN Convention On The Rights Of The Child which is a treaty that has broad implications for children and parents in the USA and around the world.  You won't hear much about it on CNN, so if you are a parent or know a parent you should check out the links.

This is a non-PC vehicle if ever there was one.

...and so were the words of a certain Patriot who went down on Flight 93.

If the pork actually ever stops, this pig may take flight.  At the present time, it has no wings.

The rally was scheduled to end at 4 pm, and it was about 3:45 as some folks started to get a jump on the crowd.

At this point we had hungry children on our hands, and we happened to see someone with a bag from McDonald's.  We asked where the McDonald's was and headed that direction.

When we were almost at the McDonald's we met a gentleman who was looking for the nearest Metro station for the Orange Line; well, he was actually looking  for Federal Triangle station but the nearest station for the Orange Line was L'Enfant Plaza.  We had an extra Metro map which we gave him. We had an interesting brief conversation with him and since McDonald's was on the way to L'Enfant Plaza, we walked together for about a block.

Here is the back of his handmade shirt.  His accent indicated that his current home of Kentucky was not his birthplace.  This gentleman was born in Scotland but later became a citizen of the USA.

After eating we headed to The National Archives, which was due to close at 5:30 pm. Here we cross The Mall on 7th street, looking back toward The Capitol at just after 4 pm.  The bus is parked on 3rd Street; just the front end of the CNN Express bus is visible at the extreme lower left corner of this photo.

Turning around and looking the other way up The Mall.  At this point the crowd had thinned to the west of 7th Street.

We also passed the Newseum on the way to the National Archives.

We went down Constitution Avenue to the public entrance to the National Archives.  No flash photgraphy is allowed inside where the Constitution, Declaration of Independence, and The Bill of Rights are displayed.  I didn't have a camera capable of getting a photo in the available light, which is purposely reduced to retard fading of those documents.  I did get a photo of a sign which had been left behind, on the ground outside the public entrance to the National Archives building.

A good summary of the point of the day.
